Another successful month for degrees, AND we had the pleasure to host our District Deputy Grand Master, who presented scholarships to the daughters of Bro. Robert Nelson, PM.

Last week we made a Mason, and this week we are holding our first ever Table Lodge! Come out and see all the great things happening at Lodge 45, Wednesday 6/27 at 7:30 PM.

An oft quoted fact, if not entirely verifiable, is that by the year 1952, eighty-nine percent of all Supreme Court Justices had been members of the Craft. There is some disagreement on whether or not this statistic is correct. But, one of those Justices was an active member of a Pennsylvania Lodge. Henry Baldwin, a Past Master of Lodge 45, Pittsburgh, served as Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court from January 1830 to April, 1844. After tendering a solemn farewell to our brother, Donald R. Sauer, Lodge 45 welcomed its newest Entered Apprentice Mason. Thank you to all of the brethren that came out and showed their support.

At tonight's stated meeting, Lodge 45 welcomed brothers from 4 outside jurisdictions: Ohio, Alabama, Alberta (Canada), and New Jersey. Amgonst those visitors, we were privileged to host the Right Worshipful Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey, RW Clifford D Heller.

Last night, Lodge 45 Entered, and Passed two candidates. It was an excellent night!

A busy month for Lodge 45! At an extra meeting we initiated a new brother into freemasonry, and at our stated meeting we welcomed the DDGM and honored our Past Masters.

Lodge 45 will be having a meeting of the elected and appointed (TBD) officers tonight at the GPMC and will start promptly at 7 pm. We will be discussing the incoming WM's vision for the year, gauging member's interest in appointed officers' chairs and other roles, and practicing ritual for the upcoming stated meeting. We encourage any and all interested brethren, especially our new members, to attend; it promises to be a rewarding experience for all. Congratulations to our newest brother, Niel David Wright, on being raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. Welcome.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Veterens Day lunch for the vets at the VA hospital. We served over a hundred vets and all the staff, with food to spare. The staff was great to work with, the vets appreciative, and a reporter from the local paper took statements and photos for a story. The scouts were a great help and the cub scouts had some good time meeting the vets. Thanks again everyone for a successful event that I hope will continue as a tradition for Lodge 45! ... See more
